4/15/25: bangs and booms

Today's prompt. For today's poem: I chose to take a poem from Donald Justice. After completing the prompt from Sunday, I grew fascinated with his name and this particular poem, "About My Poems" is a a lot of fun.

hear the crack and crash?
the bell tower is falling apart.
endless chimes and thuds, silenced.
grandfather's grandfather's clock
a stew of bronze, shingles, and wood splinters.
how will we know the time is right?
