those grinning flies
lesser and lesser
circle and buzz
around the remains
of yesterday’s feast
slip and stumble and croak
and grimace and smile with your teeth
Flies, all of them, smelling and tasting
With foot jam and little hairs
Probe the world through
The mouth and saliva
Ingest and be whole
